Sirius Subscription Changes
(Tue, 03 Feb 2009 19:05:46 GMT
)
Just thought I would let anyone reading this know that Sirius has announced some changes to the billing and access of Sirius accounts. So it looks like sometime in March, 2009 some accounts will no longer have online listening access and they are claiming "a digital online music upgrade" which everyone should fully expect to render SiNet (and sipie) completely useless.
I have no knowledge of the types of changes that are being made so I can't comment on what's going to happen... maybe the "new" player will be cross-platform and have so many features that there will be no need for SiNet. Maybe it will suck like the old/current player and I'll have to hammer out some code to get SiNet working again. At any rate, just wanted to let people know that I still listen to Sirius Internet Radio daily and I'll be watching this transition closely. If you have questions or comments feel free to post in the forum! (0 comments)

SiNet Release - 1.0.0.14
(Fri, 30 Jan 2009 18:44:38 GMT
)
Today I let 1.0.0.14 out of the IDE. It's not as polished as I would have liked it to be, but I wanted to get some of the minor changes made pushed out to the live version.
This update includes: # Saving the window position across application re-starts. # Saving the volume level across channel changes and application re-starts. # Added the "Preset" menu item to the task tray context menu for easier access.
Also: # Fixed a weird password encryption bug, the app would send the wrong password to Sirius on occasion.
If anyone has problems or wants to see a feature added open a ticket for me in the tracker. (0 comments)

Updated Sirius XM channels
(Wed, 12 Nov 2008 23:00:16 GMT
)
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I released the Sirius XM channel updates this afternoon. The update will be applied to both Windows and Linux users the next time you start-up SiNet, however Linux users may notice some song data doesn't update correctly, this will be fixed in the next day or so when I have time (no update will be required for that fix either). The only catch to the update is that the changes required also borked up the program guide so you'll see all the updates are shown in duplicate... annoying, but not a show stopper.
I figure since they did this major update they shouldn't be doing another for a while so I'm gonna start working on another minor version (1.0.0.14) to fix some bugs, including the duplicate entries in the guide issue.
In short, if you want a change made to SiNet, open an enhancement or file a bug on Sourceforge ASAP so I can get it in the next release... hopefully in the next couple of weeks. (0 comments)
